Watching a film as a Holistic Practice

After watching a holistic* film, I always experience more detachment about my own life, about my "self" and feel being in a different state of consciousness. I even compare my "self" to the characters in the film and become motivated to make important changes in my life, in my self-development and transformation.

Is it about the story film, its plot, its settings, its incidents, its visual effects, its sound effects, its special effects? Is it about them all? Is it about vibrating the illusion that we are living in where everything is not but one (entire creation including cosmos, light and beings).

What important role do holistic films play?
Do they shift our awareness to deeper states? Do they sometimes act like a good meditation—the type where you become a detached witness, you observe your thoughts, feelings, and sensations.

Does this happen only for me? Am I serious? Can a spiritual movie be like a meditation? Can it be a moment of experiencing Bliss and Silence within? Can it be even more? Can it drop tears? Can it make me joyful?

I always explore what spiritual teachings the film might be offering. What is the message behind? What is the theme and wisdom? What characters and roles played in? etc.

As a way to share experience and grow/discuss/evolve/be creative/be intelligent/... I decided to create a holistic film-watching group.

* I define a holistic film by a film that touches your heart and soul. A film about healing that transmits life force energy, about health for the mind body and surroundings. No more and No less.

Benefits of watching-film in a group:
A film may be a source of inspiration and enrichment in your daily life. A way to value compelling films, engage in conversations, increase consciousness, invite friends, provide a sense of connection and communication. Thus build a community. It is known that if one is engaged in an activity that provides increasing charm as it is continued, then one does not become fatigued. Such an activity replenishes life energy and revitalizes the body, mind and surroundings.

Another great benefit is to accommodate our nervous system to states that facilitate the experience of dimensions of human existence (physical, mental, emotional and spiritual). Why? Because for any holistic experience to be, the nervous system has to adapt itself to a certain specific conditions. In order to produce a particular experience in the mind, the nervous system has to be brought to a state of specific activity. An example of the least activity is watching holistic films.

Procedure of film-watching?
Before the film starts on we will recite Editorial Reviews and some reviews provided by previous watchers.
We may pause the film at peak high resonant conscious/awareness and meditate on it as long as it takes. One of the purposes from film-watching is to uplift our status, our Being and this can be achieved by giving time to that awareness to live in us and relive it whenever needed.

After the film, we will discuss, comment and conclude its theme, its message related to holistic films and to ourselves.
